We are vertically integrated from mined raw materials, ferrous scrap, and direct reduced iron to primary steelmaking and downstream finishing, stamping, tooling, and tubing. As a team of more than 26,000 people, we proudly serve a diverse range of markets and are the largest steel supplier to the automotive industry in North America.

Founded in 1847 as a mine operator, Cleveland-Cliffs has been traditionally recognized as the largest and oldest independent iron ore mining company in the U.S. In 2020, we acquired two major steelmakers, AK Steel and ArcelorMittal USA. This allowed us to vertically integrate our legacy iron ore business with quality-focused steel production. Cleveland-Cliffs now has the unique advantage of being self-sufficient with production of the raw materials for our steelmaking operations.
