Concordia College invites applications from candidates with a Ph.D. in the biological sciences for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Biology Department beginning August 2027. We seek a broadly trained biologist whose expertise and teaching interests complementing our undergraduate liberal arts program. Candidates who can contribute to instruction in geographic information systems (GIS) and in entomology, insect–plant interactions, or related areas are preferred. Candidates with interests or expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, ecology (including molecular ecology), evolution, environmental biology, organismal biology, environmental science, or other complementary fields are encouraged to apply. We welcome applicants who use field-based, laboratory, computational, or integrative approaches and who are eager to collaborate across disciplines. Successful candidates will aspire to be part of a diverse community that encompasses a wide range of identities, experiences, and perspectives. This richness supports our community's efforts to enable all participants to thrive both inside and outside the Biology Department. The successful candidate will contribute to our introductory biology curriculum (evolution & diversity, ecology), develop and teach upper-level courses in their area of expertise, and mentor undergraduate students in research and independent projects.
