Sewer Maintenance Laborer

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SEWERAGE AUTHORITY

The Franklin Township Sewerage Authority is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Sewer Maintenance Laborer position at their facility located at 70 Commerce Drive, Somerset, NJ 08873. This individual will be responsible for but not limited to drive vehicles and move materials, operate hydraulic sewer cleaner, perform routine maintenance on compressors, mowers, pump stations and other mechanical equipment, maintain records of routine maintenance, enter manholes and other confined spaces as needed, perform various maintenance and construction tasks as assigned, repair manholes, curbs, sidewalks, pavement and other masonry and paving work, cleaning Authority facilities and equipment, perform facilities maintenance including general building repair, construction, painting, gardening, snow removal, perform all duties in a safe manner and other duties as may reasonably be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

1. Must have a valid New Jersey Driver's
2. Must be able to follow written and oral
3. Must be able to use a measuring tape and read and use simple
4. A CDL license would be a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Requires good eye/hand/foot coordination, strength, endurance and agility to permit the individual to perform strenuous tasks safely under adverse conditions for prolonged periods.
2. Requires visual acuity of 20/30 or better in each eye, color vision, depth perception and night vision.
3. Requires auditory acuity to receive verbal orders and near machinery malfunctions.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Verbal and reasoning ability to read, understand, and comply with written and verbal instructions.
2. Emotional temperament to show initiative while taking orders well and working well as a member of a team.

REPORTS TO:   Operations Manager

HOURS:   6: 30 AM – 2: 30 PM (In person, non-remote)

HOURLY RATE:  $28.75 (Union Contract)
