Assistant Ditch Manager Job in Payette, IdahoThe Assistant Ditch Manager position at Lower Payette Ditch Company offers a unique opportunity for a self-motivated individual to work during the irrigation season, which is typically from April through mid-October. The role requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to perform both aquatic control chemical treatments and terrestrial weed spraying. The position also involves assisting with vehicle maintenance and other shop duties as assigned.
The salary for this position ranges from $52,000 to $58,240. The job is full-time and requires management/board approval for scheduling time off during the irrigation season. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED Certificate Good Communication skills on the phone and in person Solid Math skills Organized Solid decision-making skills and a motivated self-starter Cell phone provided Requires a valid driver's license and a clean, violation-free driving record for the past 3–5 years”. Class A CDL preferred but not mandatory. Be willing to be on call throughout the water season Random drug testing Proximity: Must live within 30 minutes of Payette Desirable skills: Familiarity with irrigation Basic computer skills Ability to lift 50lbs Have or acquire a Professional Applicator’s license and applicable endorsements. The timeline to obtain a license will be subject to terms when hired. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions on uneven terrain Day to Day Functions Will Include (but not limited to): Assist with maintenance of ditches/canals/delivery, headgates, pipelines, etc. Assist with other off-season maintenance such as burning, mowing, gopher hole repair, etc. Perform aquatic control chemical treatments. Perform terrestrial weed spraying and treatment. Assist with District vehicle maintenance and other shop duties as assigned. Time off during the irrigation season, typically April through October, is restricted. You must have management/board approval prior to scheduling time off during that time. Work involved is typically outside year-round. Lower Payette Ditch Company strives to adjust schedules/work to avoid the most extreme weather conditions but working in inclement weather is expected.
