Medical Malpractice Paralegal (Wilmington, DE)
About the Role We are seeking a full-time experienced and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join our Wilmington-based legal team. This position supports attorneys handling complex medical negligence matters from intake through trial and requires strong organizational skills, medical record expertise, and litigation experience.
Key Responsibilities Assist attorneys with all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, and trial preparation Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records and billing records Prepare medical chronologies, summaries, and exhibit binders Coordinate with medical experts regarding records, reports, and testimony Draft and manage pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and correspondence File documents with Delaware courts and ensure compliance with procedural rules Track deadlines, manage calendars, and maintain case management systems Communicate professionally with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Qualifications Minimum of 3–5 years of paralegal experience, with a strong preference for medical malpractice or personal injury litigation Demonstrated experience working with complex medical records Knowledge of Delaware court rules and civil litigation procedures preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment Paralegal certificate or associate’s/bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies preferred
