Position Summary: The teacher will create and maintain a culturally responsive, educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school programs and goals. It will also be the teacher's responsibility to create and implement high-quality, standards-based instruction and lesson plans for all students, aligned with the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The list of essential duties and responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following, and may be revised as necessary. 1. Administer appropriate curriculum aligned with the NVACS 2. Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive, culturally responsive, and inclusive learning environment 3. Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment 4. Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that align with the Nevada Academic Content Standards 5. Analyze student data and progress with a balanced assessment system to provide effective and targeted instruction and interventions to maximize student learning 6. Provide a classroom management plan to ensure student safety at all times 7. Collaborate effectively and professionally with administration, staff, parents/guardians, and the community 8. Integrate the use of technology into the instructional program in accordance with the Nevada K-12 Integrated Technology Standards 9. Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position, as assigned Position Expectations: 1. Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in a classroom 2. Work cooperatively with students, parents/guardians, peers, administration, and community members 3. Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals 4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects 5. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives in order to meet the needs of all students 6. Participate as an active member with all faculty and staff 7. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and school policy 8. Maintain and improve professional competence 9. Communicate effectively both written and orally 10. Meet all assigned deadlines 11. Work collaboratively in PLC teams Position Requirements: An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university 1. Must possess or be able to acquire by the time of appointment to the position, a teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE). Must be certified in a relevant subject area 2.
