Washing Specialist
Part-time position. Flexible hours 20 hours per week. No weekends or after-hours shifts. Candidate will need to have at least a high school diploma with a chemistry course. Must be mature and recognize the importance of properly handling possibly contaminated
glassware, and needs to be reliable. $17.50 per hour. Candidate will receive the appropriate level of technical and quality assurance training to satisfy our accreditation through the NYS Department of Health.

Aquatox Research is an environmental testing company located in Syracuse.  We determine the environmental acceptability of industrial and treatment plant wastewater to freshwater fish and invertebrates.  We are a 7-day a week operation that generates a lot of reusable plasticware and glassware in the testing process.  We do have concentrated acids and bases in the facility and the glassware washing process does involve the use of organic reagents such as acetone.  And since we deal with treatment plant effluent, there’s always the chance of pathogenic bacteria in the test materials.
