CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER - EDGEWATER PARK TOWNSHIP. Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8: 30 am to 4: 30 pm and Friday 8: 30 am to 12: 30 pm. Duties shall include, but not be limited to, Code Enforcement, annual rental housing inspections and lead inspections. Applicants must possess a valid NJ driver’s license and must pass a criminal background check, drug screening and be willing to obtain lead inspector and ICC Fire Inspector certifications. The successful candidate must be able to conduct field inspections, investigate and enforce various Township municipal codes, appear and testify in municipal court, coordinate inspections with other public agencies, inspect for property maintenance code violation and prepare and issue violation notices/summons, perform detailed annual rental inspections, receive complaints and follow up with inspections and violations, maintain detailed records, provide reports. Must have 1 year experience in conducting inspections/investigations to detect violations and ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations. Must have knowledge of municipal rules and ordinances and ability to apply correctly. The successful individual will need strong communication and organizational skills and computer proficiency; knowledge of SDL program is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
