About Second Stage Theater At Second Stage, we create and champion plays and musicals solely from living Americanwriters. Position Overview The Development Department secures funding to advancethe mission of Second Stage,fostering relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations to raise philanthropic support, driving membership growth, working with government funders, andgrowingcontributed revenue through events. The Director of Major Giftssecures significant philanthropic support for Second Stage, managing a portfolio of donors capable of contributingmajor annual giftsto Second Stage,both stewarding our current donors andcultivatingand securingnew donors. The Director of Major Gifts provides leadership and strategic direction formajorand planned giving initiatives at Second Stage, developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue and meet ambitious goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
Work Environment Time will be spent in an office with quiet to moderate noise level and occasionally in the theatre with often loud and amplified noises. The office environment requires using the computer, phone, and other routine office equipment.Majorityof the work will be performed inside at room temperature. Physical Requirements Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office,employee isrequired to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment. The employee may often usestairsthroughout the day and walk throughout the theatres. Hours of Work Second Stages working hours are 10 AM to 6 PM. Hoursmayalso include nights and weekends, as assigned.
