As aLecturer in the Department of Journalism & Creative Media Industries, you will be expected to teach courses indigitalvideo/cinema/filmproduction.Additional expectations include teaching in other areas of digital media production basedon thesuccessfulcandidate'sexperience,which mayincludesome combination ofaudio, web design, digital photography,AI workflows,VR/AR, mixed reality, virtual production, digital world-building for gaming, interactive media,motion graphics, VFX, and/or similar related practices. At Texas Tech University, the Lecturer titledesignatesa full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or instructional labs.In line with TTUs strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate level. The positions overall duties areallocatedbetween teaching (80%) and service (20%) to the department, college, or university. This equates to a standard teaching load of four organized courses per semester, with potential opportunities to teachadditionalcourses during summer or intersession semesters foradditionalcompensation. Teaching assignments may include both face-to-face and online courses.The Lecturer will also be expected to mentor undergraduate students within the Department. Theanticipatedcontractstart date is September 1, 2026, with faculty onduty in mid-August 2026. Required Qualifications Candidates must have either completed a master's degree in media and communication (or a discipline relevant to the position)O Rhave earned at least 18 graduate credit hours in the area by the date of the appointment. Candidates with an undergraduate degree whopossessoutstanding and significant professional experience, as well asdemonstratedcontributions to the digital media production field, may also be eligible and are encouraged to apply. Professionalexperience with a primary focus on digital video/cinema/film production isrequired.Relevant experience may include full-time, part-time, freelance, contract-based, or entrepreneurial professional practice in the field. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: At least three years of professional experience with a primary focus on digital video/cinema/film production.Relevant experience may include full-time, part-time, freelance, contract-based, or entrepreneurial professional practice in the field. Professional experience inadditionalareas of digital media production, including but not limited toaudio, web design, digital photography,AI workflows,VR/AR, mixed reality, virtual production, digital world-building for gaming, interactive media, motion graphics, VFX, and/or similar related practices. A demonstratedrecord of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level in a variety of contexts (face-to-face, online, hybrid) and class sizes (large lecture, lecture, and skills-oriented labs) and a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to servingavarietyof student populations.
