We are seeking a professional, motivated Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to our legal team. Position Overview The Legal Assistant will play a vital role in the daily operations of the firm, ensuring that our attorneys have the administrative support necessary to serve our clients effectively. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a high level of organization, and a "team-player" mentality. Key Responsibilities * Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, motions and other various legal documents. * E-Filing: Handle electronic filing of court documents via NYSCEF, PACER and other relevant portals. * Calendar Management: Maintain attorney calendars, track court deadlines, and schedule meetings and hearings. * Client Relations: Act as a professional point of contact for clients, answering phones and directing inquiries with discretion and courtesy. * File Management: Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible. * Administrative Support: Assist with time entry, travel arrangements, and other general office tasks to support the firm’s flow. Qualifications * Experience: 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or secretary is preferred. * Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). * E-Filing Skills: Familiarity with New York State and Federal court filing procedures and systems. * Soft Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, high attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality. * Compensation: Salary ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 commensurate with experience and benefits.
