The Assistant Dean of Pre Clerkship Curriculum is a senior faculty member that provides academic leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for all components of the preclerkship phase of the MD curriculum at the University of Georgia School of Medicine. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Curriculum, this individual leads a multi-disciplinary team of faculty and staff to ensure a rigorous, integrated, and innovative pre-clerkship curriculum that prepares students well for the clinical clerkships and eventual clinical practice. This role is responsible for ensuring that preclerkship educational experiences are wellintegrated, instructionally sound, aligned with the school's Medical Education Program Objectives, and compliant with LCME accreditation standards, particularly those related to curricular design, content integration, assessment, instructional quality, and continuous quality improvement. The Assistant Dean works closely with course directors (13 preclerkship courses), the Director of Small Group Learning, the Director of Anatomy, the Director of Curriculum Integration, the Assistant Dean for Assessment and Evaluation, and the Director of Teaching and Learning Development, as well as the Associate Dean for Curriculum. This leadership position ensures effective delivery of foundational scientific and clinical content, oversees the management and improvement of teaching and assessment processes, and supports faculty in advancing evidencebased educational practices. The Assistant Dean collaborates with curriculum operations and academic support teams to ensure that the preclerkship curriculum is effectively scheduled, resourced, documented, and continuously evaluated to support student success and schoolwide accreditation goals. This position will be housed in either the Department of Biomedical Sciences or the Department of Clinical Sciences, depending on the selected candidate's degree and area of specialty.
