Systems Engineer

STAFF DATA ENGINEER: Abbott Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. in Sylmar, CA. Design & build targeted data extracts from large real-world data sources, s/a admin claims data, patient device tracking, Electronic Health Records (HER) & establish linking processes for these datasets w/ focus on data quality & governance. Bachelors or foreign equiv in Comp Sci, Data Sci, or in rltd computational fld of study w/ min. 5 yrs of progressive pro software dev, data engineering, or data analytics exp. Alternatively will accept Masters w/ min. 3 yrs of pro software dev, data engineering, or data analytics exp. Each alt requirement must possess an academic or industrial background in: (i) building data architectures that support data warehousing, real-time Extraction Load Transformation (ETL) & batch big-data processing; (ii) programming languages, incl R, Python, & SQL; (iii) contemporary data engineering techniques, databases & tools; (iv) communicating & instructing on complex data concepts to non-technical audience; & (v) cloud infrastructure, incl AWS & Microsoft Azure.
