Head Varsity Football Coach

The Williamsport Area School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Varsity Football Coach.

The Head Varsity Football Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, vision, and direction of the interscholastic football program, spanning grades 7–12. This includes overseeing player development, supervising assistant coaches, and ensuring continuity and consistency across all levels of the program.

The successful candidate will provide discipline, commitment, structure, and organization, while fostering a positive team culture focused on hard work, accountability, and continuous improvement. The coach will be expected to build strong relationships with a diverse group of student-athletes and to emphasize academic achievement, leadership development, sportsmanship, and responsible citizenship.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating offseason conditioning, developing practice plans, implementing safe training techniques, and maintaining regular communication with families, school personnel, and the athletic department. Previous head coaching experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will be asked to assume the duties of the position as soon as possible.
