Job Posting: Village Clerk/Treasurer
The Village of Wilton is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and community-minded individual to serve as Clerk/Treasurer. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of village administration and financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain official village records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Prepare agendas and provide administrative support for Village Board meetings
- Manage village finances, including budgeting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
- Oversee licensing, permits, and elections in compliance with state and local regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and elected officials
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with accounting practices and office software (knowledge of Workhorse Software a plus, but not required)
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of municipal government operations preferred (training available for the right candidate)
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, finance, or public administration is a plus

- Full Time (will require some evening hours)
- Compensation: Wage will be determined by experience of candidate & discussed at time of interview
