We are committed to safety, quality, and integrity in everything we do. We're currently seeking experienced and reliable Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. Job Overview: The Mechanic position is responsible for the diagnostics and repair of all motorized vehicles within the organization with the goal of maximum reliability and functionality. Job Duties & Responsibilities · Perform diagnostics and repair of on/off road trucks and heavy equipment in the following systems: HVAC, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatics, diesel engines, and gasoline engines. · Provide on-site repair support for equipment and trucks. · Conduct standard PM operations for heavy equipment and on/off road trucks – oil changes, filter changes, grease chassis, etc. · Change tires on passenger vehicles. · Change tires on large trucks and trailers. · Perform brake system repairs - air & hydraulic. · Small engine diagnostics and repair. · Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition. · Maintain a safe and clean working area and vehicle. · And other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management. Work Location: Outdoor in all weather conditions. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday. Specific work hours are to be scheduled with the immediate supervisor and may be dependent on the specific job or project. Weekend, evening and/or overnight shifts may be required. All overtime must be pre-approved by the immediate supervisor. Physical Requirements: Stand for periods of time; considerable fieldwork requiring frequently walk, climb, balance, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, push and pull to moderate amounts of weight, as well as the use of gloves, hard hat, respirators, goggles, and other personal protective and safety equipment. Must be able to lift the hood of a truck unassisted; up to 50 lbs. on an on-going basis. Able to climb in and out of truck 3-4 steps (elevated 4+ feet into cab); verbally communicate to exchange information. Work Requirements: Experience: · 3 years of experience in diesel and gas engine diagnostic and repair preferred. Skills: · Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods. · Problem solving to effectively and timely analyze and resolve issues. · Attention to detail and ensure accuracy of work. · Teamwork. Abilities: · Lift up to 50 lbs. on an on-going basis. · Ability to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc. · Ability to multi-task and prioritize day-to-day tasks. · Ability to work with little or no supervision. · Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other staff. · Exercise sound, independent judgment within established guidelines. · Express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Equipment: · Hand and power tools, lift. License/Certification: · CDL Class A preferred. · FL Driver’s License. Education: · Certification and/or coursework in diesel/gas engine repair.
