Assistant Professor of Biology & Ecology/Evolution New York University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in ecological and evolutionary genetics and genomics, working at the interface of ecological and evolutionary dynamics of infectious disease, from the perspective of the pathogen and/or host, across microbes, animals, or plants. The successful applicant will be appointed at the rank of assistant professor in the Department of Biology, and will be part of a broader life sciences and engineering initiative that brings together researchers at the interface of biology, data science and AI through joint appointments with Engineering Health. Candidates are expected to develop an externally funded research program and to participate in the teaching mission of the Department. Candidates will supervise scholarly activities of undergraduate and graduate students and participate in administrative activities in the Department of Biology. The Department of Biologyoffers a collaborative, interdisciplinary and innovative research environment that supports ambitious research projects across the range of biology. Our core facility provides excellent and subsidized access to microscopy, high-throughput robotics, sequencing and high-performance computing. The Department has an active mentoring program for junior faculty, and is committed to the success of all faculty.
