| Position title: IT Network Engineer Senior, Senior Clear Pass Engineer Position #: JR102699 This position is available within the University of Maryland’s Division of Information Technology (DIT). The Senior Clear Pass Engineer’s role is to ensure the ongoing stability, integrity, functionality, and evolution of the University of Maryland’s Aruba Clear Pass system, which controls user access to the campus’s wired and wireless networks.
 This Senior Clear Pass Engineer will manage the implementation of the Clear Pass platform, which will include significant service design and policy planning, service transition, service operations, and continual improvement. The Senior Clear Pass Engineer will work closely with Security Operations, Identity and Access Management, Endpoint Management, Platform Engineering, and Networking Engineering teams, and implementation partners to deliver robust and reliable services that meet DIT and operational requirements. The Senior Clear Pass Engineer will have strong analytical and technical skills, and the ability to translate requirements from various stakeholders into effective system policies which effectively control access to network resources. Documentation is a critical component of this position. Design documents will contain diagrams, purpose statements, stakeholder requirements, test plans, required personnel and hardware resources, cost estimates and schedules. Strong presentation skills are necessary to present designs, promote solutions to stakeholders, and provide training to operations staff and medium-sized groups. This position involves mentoring associate personnel within the Division of IT, which may require significant effort and time dedicated to training, shadowing, guiding, and reviewing the work activities and products of colleagues. This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services.   Physical Demands:   Predominantly operates in an office environment. Some periods may be spent in computer rooms for installation, testing, and troubleshooting. Some work (less than 5%) requires moving and lifting of server equipment. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields. • Experience managing Aruba Clear Pass • HPE Aruba Networking Certified Associate or Professional - Network Security certification. • Additional technical certifications.
