Purchasing Manager

Taconic, a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes has an opening in our corporate office for a Purchasing Manager to direct and coordinate activities of the Purchasing Department. Procure materials, equipment and services from approved requisitions to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and proper pricing is secured for all goods and services received. Participates in major contract negotiations with key suppliers to secure consistent supply and competitive pricing.  Possess a sound understanding of business law, legal contracts and import/export/tariff regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration. Ten years of previous purchasing experience along with previous management experience.  Prior manufacturing experience and certification in CPM, CPIM, or similar preferred.  Good organizational and relationship building skills along with attention to detail.  PC literate with experience in MS Office preferred. Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Salary range: $95,000 – $135,000 per year.
