General Summary

Assists and supports the Executive Director of Institutional Equity with a broad range of civil rights regulatory compliance activities, including equity, affirmative action, equal opportunity, Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Major Duties

• Reviews and monitors compliance with state and federal civil rights laws and regulations and University policies to ensure protection from liability. Direct investigations in response to civil rights violations and discrimination. Respond to state and federal agency complaints.
• Coordinates Information technology system changes required as a result of state and federal civil rights regulations, including system implementations, upgrades, and creation or modification of report specification.
• Prepares and updates annual Affirmative Action Plan. Generates reports, monitors implementation and recommends action orientated programs, including position activity analysis and review.
• Performs ADA Coordinator role for the University to provide reasonable job accommodation for employees, and consultation to Disability Services for Students regarding academic adjustments for students.
• Conducts research, outreach, education/training and prevention programs for managers, supervisors, employees and students related to all employment and educational civil rights laws and regulations and University policies.
• Provides consulting service to University administration, department management, employees and students, including conflict management and resolution.
