PART-TIME DPW DRIVER / EQUIPMENT OPERATOR / SKILLED LABORER Montague Township Department of Public Works – Sussex County, NJ

Montague Township is accepting applications for a part-time (24 hours per week) Driver / Equipment Operator / Skilled Laborer in our Department of Public Works. Applicants must be New Jersey residents and possess a valid NJ Driver’s License with a Class B CDL endorsement. A Motor Vehicle Abstract will be processed at the time of application. Candidates should have experience operating heavy-duty trucks, snowplowing equipment, and other public works machinery, as well as mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on DPW vehicles and equipment. The position requires the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining DPW vehicles and equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and backhoes; performing road construction and maintenance, including paving and patching; conducting stormwater system maintenance and repairs; snow plowing and salting; building and grounds maintenance; and performing heavy lifting and other physically demanding tasks. This position requires availability for on-call duties 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as needed for emergencies, including inclement weather events.
