Job Description PURPOSE SUMMARY. Under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor, provides technical GIS functions to create and maintain base maps. ESSENTIAL DUTIES. Responsible for parcel property maps using GIS computer database, duties include but are not limited to:

ADDITIONAL DUTIES. Performs other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS. A. Education. Bachelor’s degree in Geography or closely related field B. Experience. Three (3) years of experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) C. Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with County Policy D. Licenses/Certifications. Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with County policy E. Other (e.g., post-offer medical exam, polygraph, background check, driver's license record, etc.) Background and driver’s license record check KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: Must have knowledge of: Concept of basic GIS fundamentals and principles including intermediate to advanced usage of Arc GIS Software (Arc Map, Arc Catalog, etc.); Descriptions pertaining to land ownership; Research methods to determine transitions of ownership and distribution of land; Mathematics and spatial data analysis; Intermediate to advanced levels on operation of a computer and computer aided devices; and training techniques and methods. Must have skills in: Understanding and responding to mapping requests from the public; Reading, understanding and working with mapping data; Data/trend analysis; Reading deed and contract descriptions; Effective communication; Working independently; Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; Operating general office computer equipment and use software including databases, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access); maintaining accurate records; developing spreadsheets; communicating effectively in verbal and written form, developing collaborative partnerships, and maintaining confidentiality; Compensation Range $25.03 - $41.40 Salary/Compensation: $25.03 - $41.40 per hour recblid ysq3vcflnk0i6dfogtv1zq01we9yoh |
