The College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position in social work at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek applicants whose expertise prepares them to contribute to the College's mission to drive positive change through innovative teaching, dynamic research, public service and experiential learning to empower communities, expand belonging, transform systems and prepare the next generation of social work leaders. The College of Social Work offers undergraduate, MSW (in-person and online), and doctoral programs. Our faculty maintain interdisciplinary collaborations across campus, including externally funded research centers, and we have numerous partnerships with state and community-based agencies that enhance research and teaching. Qualifications: The position requires a doctoral degree in social work or a related field by the start date of employment (August 15, 2026), and a strong capacity for research productivity, scholarly impact, and excellence in teaching. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching online and/or the ability to teach classes and conduct research in trauma-informed practice, communities and organizations, or policy.
