The City of Monroe is accepting applications and conducting testing for the position of Full-time Entry Level Patrol Officer. Starting salary is $64,770 - $94,295, based on certification, with top out after 4 years according to the current contract. 4 on 2 off schedule. 8.5 hour shifts Comprehensive benefit package including a generous, HSA Contribution $1,800/$3,600. Vacation, Sick Time, Comp Time, Holiday Pay, $1,000 Clothing Allowance, Paid OPOTA Certification, Tuition Reimbursement & Work Life Balance. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of Secondary Education or Equivalent (high school diploma or GED). Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy *if not already certified, hired candidates will be sent to the academy and costs will be covered by the City. Initial physical is required for admission into the academy. Valid drivers license. The hiring process will consist of a Civil Service Exam through National Testing Network, panel interview, full background check and other testing as determined appropriate. Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment. No person may apply for or receive an original appointment if that person is 35 years of age or older. Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment will be subject to successful completion of the following: Background Investigation, Truth Verification/CVSA, Physical & Drug Screening, Psychological Assessment.
