Copper Queen Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for coordinating all payroll, benefits, and retirement-related functions for hospital employees. The role provides technical support and guidance to management, conducts research, implements policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
Key responsibilities processing payroll transactions, maintaining accurate employee records, managing time-off programs, ensuring timely tax filings, handling garnishments, administering benefits, and overseeing payroll system security. This position plays a vital role in benefits enrollment and education, compensation reviews, and audit preparation. The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator also serves as the liaison for employee and manager questions and presents payroll and benefits information during new hire orientation.
Qualifications 1 to 3 years of payroll administration experience, strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations including FLSA, and proficiency in payroll software, preferably UKG. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities are required. Bilingual skills are a plus. Professional certifications such as CPP, FPC, or SHRM are encouraged but not required.
