Head Bus Driver

Morris Central School has the following opening: Head Bus Driver Morris Central School has an opening for a Head Bus Driver. The selected person will schedule bus runs & school/sports trips, submit payroll for the Transportation Department. Will be responsible for ensuring all drivers are up to date with all New York State requirements. CDL License with the clearance to drive school buses required.The Head Bus Driver is responsible for overseeing daily school transportation operations while ensuring the safety and efficiency of all bus routes. This leadership role includes driving a regular route, supervising other drivers, assisting with route planning, and coordinating bus schedules. The Head Bus Driver conducts safety inspections, monitors vehicle maintenance, and ensures compliance with state and district transportation regulations. Additional responsibilities include training new drivers, maintaining accurate records, addressing parent and student concerns, and serving as a liaison between the transportation department and school administration. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. A valid CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements, a clean driving record, and experience in school transportation are required. This is a full-time position with split shifts (AM and PM runs) and occasional additional hours for special trips.
