The Chickasha Express-Star is excited to announce an opening for a talented hybrid news and sports reporter to join our award-winning team. This role entails extensive coverage of local high school sports, where you'll have the opportunity to showcase the athletic talents and achievements of our community's youth. While sports will be your primary focus, we are also looking for someone who is versatile enough to contribute to local news coverage. This means you will be expected to write news articles, ideally one per week, allowing you to engage with a wider spectrum of community stories and events that matter to our readers.

• Having experience in photography will be an added advantage, as the ability to visually capture the essence of both sports and news stories can significantly enhance your contributions.

• This position requires availability during evenings and some weekends, particularly during the bustling football season when coverage is at its peak. Your commitment to the community through timely reporting will be vital.

• Candidates must possess reliable transportation and maintain a clean driving record to ensure accessibility to various reporting locations.
