Veterinary Assistant

Ol' Mac Donald's Farm Animal Clinic will be a start up mixed animal practice, started by Dr. Hannah Willett, and opening July 28. Dr. Willett is looking for a veterinary assistant who is comfortable handling and restraining dogs and cats, and willing to learn to handle and restrain horses and livestock. An assistant will be expected to clean, do laundry, re-stock supplies, interact with clients when checking in or discharging patients, collecting animal patient history, answering phones and scheduling appointments, filling medications, helping with deceased patients, cleaning and wrapping sterilized instruments, . This is a small country vet clinic so all employees will be expected to be flexible and willing to help other employees finish their tasks before we can all leave at the end of the day. The veterinary assistant will be expected to help the vet tech with tech appointments such as vaccine boosters, blood draws, anal glands, toe nail trims, grooming, urine recheck, etc.
