Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field; eight years of experience in network infrastructure, information security, web development and or development/administration, to include three years of planning, configuring, maintaining enterprise voice/telephony infrastructure, with recent hands-on work in Microsoft Teams Phone; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience designing and implementing unified communications solutions in hybrid or cloud environments. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in complex UC environments, including SBCs, PSTN connectivity, and Teams integrations. Prior experience with migration projects (e.g., from legacy PBX or other platforms to Teams Phone) is highly desirable. Additional experience with other collaboration tools (Zoom, Cisco, Skype for Business) is a plus. Deep understanding of Microsoft Teams Phone architecture, including Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Calling Plans. Proficiency in IP telephony, VoIP protocols (SIP), and enterprise network fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, QoS). Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, and identity/access management. Experience with Teams-certified devices, conference room AV systems, and related hardware. Knowledge of Power Shell scripting and Microsoft Graph API for automation and management. Awareness of cybersecurity best practices for unified communications environments.
- Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

- This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
Duties
- Designing and planning U Caa S solutions, developing technical roadmaps, and requirements gathering. This includes evaluating new technologies, creating solution architectures, and ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Building, configuring, and deploying U Caa S platforms and related infrastructure. Involves hands-on engineering, system integration, and initial testing to ensure robust deployments.
- Ongoing support, troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization of U Caa S systems. Includes lifecycle management, system upgrades, and ensuring high availability and performance.
- Engaging with vendors for solution selection, contract negotiation, and escalation. Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure service needs are met and performance standards are maintained.
- Creating and updating technical documentation, training IT staff, and driving process improvements. Staying current with U Caa S trends and best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Provide on-call emergency support for assigned areas of responsibility outside of normal business hours.
- Perform other work as required.
