WATER DISTRIBUTION CREW LEADERThe City of Moline, ILApplication Deadline: 6/23/2025, 5: 00 p.m. Central Hours: Monday-Friday, 7: 00 a.m.-3: 00 p.m. Salary: $34.73 - $50.36 Hourly; $72,239.23-$104,746.93 Annually Non-Negotiable Starting Pay: $34.7304 Hourly / $72,239.23 Annually JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs specialized, highly skilled work and coordinates the activities of work crews in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by department management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
QUALIFICATIONS: Training and Experience Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and four years progressively responsible experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of water distribution systems; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of acceptable practices and standards of the methods, materials, techniques and tools used in the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of water distribution systems; knowledge of GIS related water distribution system mapping and data management practices; knowledge of the laws and regulations that impact the work performed and supervised. Advanced skill in performing plumbing work; skill in public, employee and labor relations and in maintaining effective working relationships; skill in using personal computers and software applications, including GIS, GPS, spreadsheet, and database applications; skill in safe and proper operation of backhoes and end loaders; skill in reading and interpreting plans, blueprints, shop drawings and schematics; skill in using hand tools and power tools; skill in using electronic and manual main, valve, and leak locating equipment. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as policies, regulations, instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams, schedules and labor agreements; ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints; ability to write reports, business correspondence and work procedures; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, elected officials and the general public; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
