Overview: The Engineering Shedd, LLC, a Southeast Kansas consulting engineering firm serving a broad base of industries around the globe, is seeking a full-time Professional Engineer to meet the growing demands of our clients. The position involves generating structural design calculations and details for concrete foundations supporting steel structures and storage tanks.  Duties would also entail occasional onsite inspection and forensics investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop structural engineering design calculations and drawings with a specialized focus on concrete foundations, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
• Analyze geotechnical data to confirm foundation adequacy.
• Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their project needs, address technical challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
• Travel requirement is less than 10%.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with a significant focus on concrete design.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Auto CAD.
• Extensive knowledge of industry codes and standards, including ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE, and other applicable standards for concrete and structural design.
• Proven experience in managing multiple, complex projects and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Presentation of work must be concise, neat and professional.
• Individual must be highly motivated, work independently and have the ability to travel occasionally.
