Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a professional Director, Accounting and Budget with excellent interpersonal skillsand ability to foster collaborative working relationships andfiscal leadership to join the Research and Innovation Division. The Director, Accounting and Budget serves as the senior businessofficer for Research & Innovation (R&I) and is a member ofthe Vice President of Research and Innovation (VPRI) seniorleadership team reporting directly to the VPRI. The Director, inclose collaboration with the VPRI, is responsible for leading andoverseeing R&I's financial planning and monitoring with abudget in excess of $61 million, providing corporate accountingadministration, managing start-up financial packages for incomingresearchers, and championing sustainable growth of research andentrepreneurial functions for the University. This position is tasked with resource allocation and ensuring theimplementation of procedural systems that foster efficiency andfinancial strength of the division. The Director monitors grantexpenditures on awards received in R&I and guides departmentsfor financial management or required changes. Ensures compliancewith restrictions on gifts, endowments, grant funds, federal,state, and NSHE policies and regulations in all budgetaryprocesses. The Director manages the expenditures of the internalgrants. This position is responsible for the financial management of the Nevada Research and Innovation Corporation (NVRIC), which includesbeing the subject matter expert in preparing quarterly consolidatedfinancial statements, understanding fiscal matters related tointellectual property, license agreements and royalties and generalcorporate accounting. The Director assumes the role of internal andexternal liaison, engaging with key partners to enhance andrepresent Research & Innovation goals and provide strategicfiscal leadership. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of related professional workexperience Master's Degree and three (3) years of related professional workexperience. Related Experience: Accounting, financial analysis, corporate fiscal management,training and strategic planning or related professional workexperience. Schedule

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefitto faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to sixcredits per semester at a reduced rate.
