The Winston-Salem Journal and Greensboro News & Record, a division of Lee Enterprises, are award-winning daily newspapers that operate as one team to cover the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. We aim to grow loyal digital subscribers by creating local content that our audience can't get anywhere else. We're looking for a digital-savvy reporter and self-starter with the confidence to develop relationships with a diverse range of sources. Daily responsibilities include writing and reporting, shooting video, and staying on top of our digital delivery. This reporter will focus on breaking news and will be trained to cover public safety/crime, but we're also looking for someone with a strong desire to get to know the community, meet as many people as possible, and find great stories regardless of the beat. The schedule may include a weekend day and possibly an early or late shift. If this all sounds flexible, it's because we're currently realigning our team to best serve our audience, and we'd love to get your ideas and input, and to see what you can do. College graduates are encouraged to apply. Anchored by the cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, the Triad is a thriving hub for arts and entertainment, growth and development, and healthcare. It's home to more than 20 colleges and universities, including Wake Forest, UNC Greensboro, UNC School of the Arts, High Point University and North Carolina A&T, the nation's largest historically Black college and university. |
