In association with the Chief Nursing Executive, this role provides leadership for patient care and is responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer works under the direction of the CNE to provide direction, leadership, planning, organization and general management for all aspects of patient care ensuring integration of services and compliance with long range objectives and strategies, including the provision of excellent quality services, nursing vision, and responsible fiscal management. As a member of the Hospital management and executive committees and regional nursing management teams, works collaboratively with other senior leaders to achieve the highest quality healthcare in a clinically and fiscally accountable manner. Develops strong collaborative leadership relationships with the UT Health, San Antonio. The Chief Nursing Executive may delegate scope of oversight for the professional practice of nursing and the provision of nursing care in all licensed or surveyable areas of the medical facility. Oversight is defined as having responsibility for regulatory, quality, service, resources, nursing staff competency and evaluation of the overall delivery of nursing care. Sets standards and drives operational integration of programs by ensuring alignment of communication to nursing. Supervises assigned staff and has operational accountability for and authority over assigned functional areas. Why work for University Health? Requirements: Master’s degree in nursing with five (5) years recent nursing management experience. Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
