IAR Specialist Trainee The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an IAR Specialist Trainee to receive training in all intake, assessment and referral services provided for clients; assist in contacting police departments within assigned geographical region to determine which locations have cases requiring interviews and may travel to police departments to conduct interviews; obtain arrest reports and domestic violence arrest information from police and may discuss cases with arresting officers to obtain additional information; assist in conducting comprehensive computerized criminal record checks to document prior offenses and criminal histories; meet with clients to document information such as residence, employment, education, family ties to the area, psychiatric, drug and/or alcohol problems, prior convictions, failures to appear, etc.; verify information provided by contacting references and victims; receive training in analyzing information obtained from interviews to assess clients; assist in setting bail or developing recommendations for clients on non-financial bond; receive training in presenting bail and domestic violence recommendations in court; assist in developing orders and monitoring release conditions; may maintain contact with clients under conditional release to monitor compliance; may assist in conducting home or site visits to monitor clients' adherence to release conditions; assist in assessing clients to determine eligibility for programs; may collect urine samples and report test results to court; notify clients of their required court appearances; explain court procedures to clients; prepare reports and correspondence; maintain records and activity logs; perform related duties as required. Salary Range: $63,137 - $81,998/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.
