The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literature at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a full-time (9-month), non-tenure-track instructor position in Spanish to begin August 15, 2025. Candidates must possess an M.A. in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field. We seek an outstanding educator to teach lower- and upper-division courses in the Spanish language. The successful candidate must demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English and excellence in teaching at all levels. Previous collegiate-level teaching experience preferred. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of second language acquisition theory, effective pedagogical techniques, as well as the ability to incorporate relevant cultural content into language courses. Committee work and continuing professional development are expected.
