Accounts Payable and Payroll SpecialistRole Overview: The Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and payroll functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The A/P responsibilities include preparing and performing check runs; reconciling accounts payable transactions; preparing analysis of accounts; maintaining schedule/ledger for all reoccurring payable; maintaining vendor accounts; reviewing and verifying invoices and check requests; receiving, issuing, and maintain ledger for all Purchase Order Requests; sorting, coding and matching invoices, packing slips and purchase orders; tracking expenses and processing expense reports; corresponds with vendors and responds to inquiries; produce monthly reports; provide supporting documentation for audits; assist with month end closing; maintains compliance with required deadlines; and maintains all information with superior level of confidentiality. Payroll functions include processing of payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; calculating and processing employee wages, salaries, deductions, and benefits; preparing and distributing payroll checks or direct deposits slips; assist with end of year payroll reporting (W2s); and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll. Must be able to organize and prioritize; possess diligence and accuracy; have good critical thinking skills, ability to meet deadlines; and must be a collaborator. The AP/Payroll Specialist will be a key point of contact for vendors and employees regarding payment and payroll inquiries. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred. Required Experience: Background in accounts payable, payroll systems, and general accounting practices; familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in data management are essential, alongside 1-3 years of related experience in accounting roles.
