Job Description PURPOSE SUMMARY Plan, organize, coordinate, manage, and supervise thedesign, signing, and striping activities in support of County public works projects. Oversee National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) activities; oversee compliance review activities and perform other administrative tasks in support of the department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Prepare and oversee engineering projects
2. Conduct engineering planning
3. Oversee construction projects
4. Manage and oversee traffic projects
5. Assist with the Storm Water program
6. Supervise signing section
7. Supervise compliance review section
ADDITIONAL DUTIES . Other related duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, or an engineering discipline. Experience. Four (4) years of experience in planning, design, and construction projects; one (1) year of supervisory or management experience in an engineering environment. Public sector employment or consulting to the government is preferred. Prior experience with computers, including surveying software, Geographic Information System (GIS), Arc View, and Auto CAD Land Desktop, is also preferred. Education/Experience substitution. None. Licenses/Certifications: Valid unrestricted driver’s license. Licensed as a New Mexico Professional Engineer (PE) or must obtain within six (6) months of hire. Other (e.g., post-offer medical exam, polygraph, background check, driver's license record, etc.). Must pass a background and driving record check.
