The Department of Biology at Benedict College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Biology beginning in Fall 2025. We are seeking individuals with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service to the community and the College. Candidates should be able to teach a range of introductory and upper-level lecture and laboratory courses, including general biology, research fundamentals, ethics in science, cell biology, microbiology, anatomy, molecular biology, and physiology. Faculty are expected to develop a strong, externally-funded undergraduate research program. Desired areas of research expertise include, but are not limited to: molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience, developmental biology, ecology and conservation biology, bioinformatics, and evolutionary biology. Faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the Benedict College Mission. A doctoral degree in Biology or related field is required. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Biology or closely related discipline. Applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor must demonstrate strong potential as an effective instructor and student mentor, and be able to obtain funding to support an undergraduate research program. Applicants for the rank of Associate Professor should have at least 3 years of experience as an effective instructor and mentor, and have an established research agenda.
