has a position opening for an Equipment Operator/Laborer This is a permanent maintenance position working eight (8) flexible hours per day. The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment as well as miscellaneous lawn care equipment. This is a permanent, Grade 6, Class A, maintenance position working eight (8) flexible hours per day at the negotiated rate of $21.06 per hour after the probationary period. This position will be under the direction of the Grounds Working Foreman. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate heavy equipment including a dump truck, backhoe, boom truck, loader, tractors, skid steer, etc., as well as miscellaneous lawn care equipment. A Class A commercial driver's license and mechanical experience are required. Successful candidate must also be able to follow directions, work safely, work in a team environment with building staff and custodial crew, maintain a flexible schedule, perform preventive and routine maintenance on equipment, small engines and diesel engines, exhibit problem solving skills and have mechanical aptitude. General labor work on the grounds crew will be both inside and outside of district buildings. Hours will typically follow a daytime schedule but may change to alternate shifts as weather conditions or projects dictate.
