The Procurement Project Manager is leading a broad range of projects within the area of Diagnostics Direct Procurement but also in close collaboration with collaborators and adjoining functions. These projects include the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of state-of-the-art procurement processes but also digital Procurement Solutions, leveraging both traditional but also agile ways of working. In addition, the Procurement Project Manager is leading benchmarking and sourcing projects, leveraging modern digital technologies and procurement tools (e.g. eAuctions).

The Opportunity

  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement project plans, considering timelines, budgets, and resource requirements

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables

  • Monitor and control project execution

  • Monitor and mitigate risk - Monitor the progress of projects and proactively identify and report any projected risks to overall targets or timelines as well as potential mitigation strategies. Resolve issues and project risks on a timely basis and escalate issues and risks where appropriate

  • Planning, design, and leadership of global Sourcing & Benchmarking projects

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with the internal and external partners; Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams

  • Drive close alignment with relevant stakeholders within Roche Diagnostics and across Roche Group

  • Lead global, cross-functional projects to expand and continuously improve the modern procurement process landscape

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements/improvement potential

  • Manage backlog

  • Leveraging modern digital procurement technology to drive an efficient, compliant Sourcing & Benchmarking process

  • Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, identifying opportunities for automation, streamlining, and cost savings

  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance overall procurement efficiency

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree, with business or life science degree preferred

  • Business level fluency in English as well as primary business language of the site(s) supported

  • 5+ years procurement, supply chain, or management consulting experience

Preferred

  • Familiarity with different project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall

  • Demonstrated understanding of some / all of the major direct spend categories and potential cost levers or market fundamentals.

  • Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier management in new product development and introduction in the medical device/pharmaceutical industry, or other highly regulated industry

  • 3+ years of project management experience including risk management, project reporting, and delivering quantitative and qualitative results in complex environments.

  • Strong experience in upward communication and senior stakeholder management, supported by good interpersonal competencies (communication, influencing).

  • Strong capability in negotiation and conflict resolution

  • Documented international strategic sourcing experience and/or cross-functional, international projects in Procurement Area

  • Experience in new product and/or technology transfer processes and requirements

  • Experience in working in complex global matrix environments; Experience from working in a cross-functional setting (e.g. Supply chain, Finance, Quality, Regulatory)

  • Strong analytical experience including the ability to drive insights from large and varied data sources, data visualization applications (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview) and database applications (e.g. Access).

  • Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement / procure-to-pay tools such as (e.g. GEP, Ariba, Emptoris, SAP)

  • Postgraduate business-related qualification. Additional qualification in the areas of Procurement or Project Management

  • Life Sciences or Management Consulting industry experience.

  • Any professional purchasing (e.g. CIPS), project management (e.g. PMP, Prince 2), or Finance related permits/licenses or certifications would be considered advantageous

Relocation benefits are not available for this posting

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis, IN is $73,900 - $137,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
