Summary
The Sponsored Programs Coordinator (SPC) performs research administration functions for the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research. Individuals in this role will aid faculty and staff with pre-award proposal development and select post-award processes while providing financial and regulatory guidance throughout the proposal and award generation process. It is the SPC's responsibility to identify potential issues to safeguard the institution and its researchers from legal and financial liabilities due to noncompliance.
Essential Functions
- Advises, assists, and coordinates faculty and staff in the development and submission of proposals for external funding, ensuring compliance with agency and institutional policies and federal regulations.
- Under strict time constraints and in coordination with prevailing federal policy, manages the internal campus review and approval process for all external grant activities.
- Assists faculty and administrators with identifying solutions to pre-award issues such as cost-share, compensation/time allocation, and F&A concerns ensuring adherence to relevant agency and institutional policies.
- Provide support to principal investigators related to non-financial post-award grants management including, but not limited to, progress reports, effort certification, no-cost extension requests, etc.
- Assists Director and Assistant Director with creating educational materials for presentation to faculty/staff. Assist with leading proposal and application development/preparation trainings to principal investigators.
- Other duties as assigned (e.g. file maintenance, administrative support, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
The following Degree is required:
- Bachelor's degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
The following Experience is required:
- 1 year administrative experience (e.g. Project management and/or budgeting experience)
The following Experience is preferred:
- 1 year experience with grant proposals and budget development with various funding agencies
