Lawrence University invites nominations and applications for theposition of Vice President for Finance & Administration (VPFA). Reporting directly to President Laurie A. Carter, J.D., the Vice President for Finance & Administration is the chief financialofficer for the University, providing strategic andfinancial/operational leadership and management oversight of allfinancial functions. The VPFA serves as a member of the senior Cabinet, a collaborative body that provides strategic andoperational direction to the institution. The VPFA providesstrategic financial guidance and recommendations on operations tothe President and senior executive team, setting and achieving themission, goals, and objectives of the University, and providessupport for several committees of the Board of Trustees. Thisposition oversees and manages a wide range of financial andadministrative functions, including accounting and financialreporting, treasury, investment management, cash management, debtmanagement, budget and planning, and financial analysis. The VPFA should possess an advanced professional degree inaccounting, finance, business, law, or a related field. Thesuccessful candidates will have an established record ofsignificant fiscal management experience with a minimum of tenyears as a financial/operations practitioner, preferably withexperience in a broad range of financial/operations activities.Candidates will also be expected to have a command of financialmodeling, physical plant maintenance and renewal, construction andproperty management, human resources, and information technologyinfrastructure/software to support an institution of higherlearning. Additionally, the successful candidate must possessdemonstrated administrative, supervisory, and leadership skills, aswell as excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.Experience within a college or university environment is especiallyvalued.
