PART TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER The Borough of Prospect Park seeks a qualified part-time Code Enforcement Officer to perform field and office work necessary to ensure that residents, businesses, and citizens comply with municipal codes/ordinances. Primary responsibility is to enforce the Borough’s codes/ordinances relating to property zoning, maintenance, and construction rules and regulations. Inspects interior and exterior of properties for safety hazards, unsightly appearance, unsanitary or unsafe conditions. Establishes and implements systematic schedule for inspections, reports and records. Issues summonses as needed for violators of codes/ordinances and makes municipal court appearances to testify as needed. Provides weekly reports to Borough Administrator. Candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience in conducting inspections or investigations to detect violations of and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations; or demonstrate willingness to learn and obtain necessary certifications. Must possess current NJ driver’s license with excellent driving record. Schedule: 20 hrs/week consisting of court appearances once per month, weekday hours and Saturday hours. Additional Construction Code Licenses & multilingual proficiency not required, but a plus. Deadline to apply is March 7, 2025. Salary commensurate with experience.
