Personnel Security Specialist

As a Viasat security professional you will be an integral member of our dynamic Security team. You will have a broad variety of responsibilities and will be encouraged to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including several government agencies. We'll count on you to ensure strict compliance with government, customer, and company security policies and procedures including the DoD Manual 5205.07 Vol 1 & 4, 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), DoD 5105.21 Vol 1-3, DoDI 5205.11, and related SCI/DoD manuals and directives.

Viasat is seeking a self-starting Personnel Security Specialist responsible for the administration and compliance of personnel security clearances and access for our Special Programs team. You will provide on-site support to our various programs while navigating corporate and government policies and directives. • Manage, complete, and ensure adherence to corporate and government policies.
• Collaborate with functional areas to perform personnel file checks for applicants.
• Engage with personnel to ensure compliance with Personnel Security Questionnaire reporting and timelines.
• Maintain clearances and accesses in good standing, assist with roster generations, and access request processing for a variety of customers. This will involve administering these clearances within government mandated databases.
• Demonstrate your ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, exercise discretion in sensitive situations and adhere to policy while handling Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
• Develop tracking procedures and mechanism for gathering metrics across the organization.
• Document control functions including destruction, inventory, and accountability of material. Assist with data transfer activities.
• Perform clearance processing activities to include review, process, and coordination of PARs, PSQs, SCI clearance requests.
• Coordinate SAP/SCI SETA program to include execution of indoctrinations PIA's/4414s, debriefings, derivative classification, courier, annual and event driven training.
• Support visitor control and meeting coordination, to include receiving and transmitting classified visit requests.
• Prepare and efficiently implement DD-254s for prime and subcontracting activities.
• Lead incident investigation and reporting to government customers. Analyze trends and make recommendations for improvement.
• Assist with the completion of self-inspections.
• Maintain physical security integrity of ICD 705 spaces to include participation in new builds and potential after-hour alarm/emergency response to facility.
• Implement local SOPs, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency is maintained across the program areas.
• Assist Viasat's Contractor Program Security Officers (CPSOs) in coordinating and maintaining compliance with security protocols.

• • US Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • 1+ years working with SAP and or SCI programs with demonstrated understanding of DoD and IC Policies.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and various office tools.
  • Effective communication and social skills, with experience working collaboratively in a team environment.

• Solid understanding of security software programs (e.g., DISS, NISS, SIMS, JADE, eQIP).
• Experience in working with the United States Intelligence Community (USIC) and Special Access Program (SAP) Environments (PSO, CPSO, CSSO, SSO).
• SAP Security Official (SPO) training.
• Completion of Joint Access Database Environment (JADE) training.
• Strong intuition for business.
