Cloud Database Engineer Senior

Location: Hybrid, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday on-site in McLean, VA/Plano, TX
Assignment Type: CTH
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $80 - $82/hr

Conversion Salary Range (if applicable): $175-190K
Must Have Qualifications: 7+ years with preference of 10+ dealing with database backgrounds, Cloud database -AWS Lambda, CTF , Automation, Python , Ansible, PowerShell
Schedule: Standard

• The candidate will be part of database engineering team supporting cloud automation work.
• Migrating and setting up environment in AWS, Postgre, MongoDB databases.
• Writing automation for database provisioning and migration - CFT/Terraform
• Exp. Of Database engineering architecture (can take in future database masking)
• Scripting- Python, Ansible, Powershell (any 2 will work)
• Understanding of database security concepts (need not to be hands on)
• - Database management: Design, implement, and maintain Cloud based DBs like AWS Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, Document DB, Neptune, Dynamo DB, Elastic Cache using AWS services
• - Cloud Automation: Develop automation, workflows for provisioning, configuration, backups, patching, and scaling using tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Python etc.
• - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use IaC tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Rafay) to manage infrastructure as Code.
• - Database Performance Tuning: Expertise and depth in one or more DB technologies specifically on performance tuning aspects of Database and SQL queries
• - Strong Database Architecture and Engineering skills
• Preferred location is Mclean, VA But a small team sits in Plano, TX - a very strong candidate would be considered.

Cloud Database Engineering Senior

A successful candidate will have the following characteristics:
Strong experience in AWS Cloud Automation responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based database systems while leveraging automation, scalability, and reliability of the systems.

Key responsibilities:
- Database management: Design, implement, and maintain Cloud based DBs like AWS Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, Document DB, Neptune, Dynamo DB, Elastic Cache using AWS services
- Cloud Automation: Develop automation, workflows for provisioning, configuration, backups, patching, and scaling using tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Python etc.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use IaC tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Rafay) to manage infrastructure as Code.

Additional Cloud Skills (Preferrable)
* Knowledge of authentication, authorization of services via OAuth.
* Experience in understanding & implementation Cloud Database Security - IAM & Managed AD
* Minimum 7 years of experience in Database Engineering and Architecture including supporting production environments
* 7+ years of related industry experience in an enterprise environment
* Demonstrable experience with
* Postgres Aurora, MongoDB and emerging database technologies like Graph DB, Vector DB
* AWS Cloud Engineering/operations
* Knowledge of Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git and Artifactory
* Scripting languages (e.g., Groovy / Perl / Python / Ruby)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience(required)
