Job Description

As a Emergency Response Officer at Allied Universal, the Emergency Response Officer is responsible for maintaining a high visibility uniformed presence, responding to a variety of emergency situations. The Emergency Response Officer will provide assistance during acts of violence, crisis, and other incidents. Emergency Response Officers will assist by providing first aid, conducting evacuation, and engaging threatening individuals.

Site Location: Midland, Georgia
Starting Base Pay: $26.78 Per Hour.
Employment Type: Full Time
Shifts Available: Morning / Evening
Morning / Evening Shift: Rotating Scheduled 7 AM - 3 PM. One day out of the week will be 12 PM - 8 PM
Workdays Available: Monday - Sunday

Requirements:
    Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 Certified.
  • Hazardous Materials Certified.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Firefighter experience and a minimum of 4 years of managements experience.
  • Current EMT basic state of GA Licensee preferred,
  • Can posses an Associate Degree in Fire Science with a minimum of 4 to 5 years in a related field.
  • Must posses or have the physical ability to attend annual confined rope rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146) as well as Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Certification.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills. Must Posses the ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, Calmly and efficiently.
  • Must be physically able to perform firefighting duties, safety operate power tools, climb ladders and wear firefighting gear including SCBA gear weighing approx. 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 80 pounds. If they don't have 40 hour hazardous materials certs they must complete the 40 hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Capably utilize scheduling and billing software to produce reports (such as Scheduling Activity, Training Detail reports, etc.) that require interpretation and action for effective business management
  • Enforce Contract Standards
  • Administers site safety programs outlining site-specific hazards for security officers including vehicle / driving safety as appropriate to corporate procedures
  • Prepared to participate in unemployment hearings
  • Enforces Allied Universal's policies as outlined in the handbooks and executive memos
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
