POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Afognak Native Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Specialist. The HRIS Specialist will participate in the support, maintenance, and implementation of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in addition to other systems supported by the HRIS team. Ensure data integrity and effective HR system utilization, develop queries and reports to meet the Company's organizational and operational business needs. Research and resolve questions/issues and respond to data inquiries in an accurate and timely manner. Participate in HRIS-related projects and system upgrades.



  • Assist in the review, testing, and implementation of HRIS system upgrades, patches, or HR system configuration projects and enhancements
  • Assist in the maintenance of HRIS systems and data integrity, through query and data review
  • Troubleshoot system errors, through research and provide support to ensure accurate and timely resolution
  • Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of changes and document processes, procedures, and testing results accordingly
  • Review end-user requirements, and assist in the identification and creation of report specifications to streamline current data collection and reporting processes and provide useful reports on a timely basis
  • Assist with HR system configuration by utilizing HRIS data
  • May work with HR team, Payroll, IT, and other departments as necessary
  • Ability to process transactions in HRIS, Benefits, Recruiting, and Onboarding software
  • Perform system administration functions for the various systems in HR
  • Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools
  • Document system design and processes for the training, reference, and education on processes and system functionality
  • Provide backup support to Human Resource Specialist(s) and other HR staff members
  • Serve as back up to HRIS Manager in the transmission of various data files


Pay Range:$28.00 to $35.00 Hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications and Experience:



  • Five (5) or more equivalent years of Human Resource experience working with various Human Resources Information Systems
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Access, and Word
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Possess solid inter-personal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:



  • Database experience
  • Prior experience using ADP, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Talent Management, DocuWare, E-Verify, Benefitfocus, Cognos, Power BI
  • Three years prior Human Resource experience, working in a multi-state and overseas environment
  • Prior Human Resource experience working with Government Contracting
  • Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements and the Service Contract Act
