JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The College of the Liberal Arts is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide support to department heads and for numerous faculty processes, from hiring to promotion and tenure. This role is great for individuals looking for variety in their next career move. Most of the Administrative Assistant's responsibilities will be focused within the departments of Applied Linguistics and Philosophy; this position is part of the administrative team who collectively supports these departments and the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS). The Administrative Assistant will work both independently and collaboratively, utilizing organizational skills and a high level of professionalism and discretion, to complete this position's responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
The Administrative Assistant will also play a key role in ensuring faculty compliance with Penn State's policies and procedures - reading and understanding the policies and procedures to be able to give guidance to faculty members. After training, the Administrative Assistant will work with various software, including Microsoft Office 365, Workday, and DocFinity, as well as those specific to Penn State:

Education and Experience: This position will be filled at the level of Intermediate Support or Senior Support, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Intermediate Support level requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) for education and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. Additional Qualifications:
