Job Summary

Under general supervision, prepares equipment for tests, does test set-up conducts tests and maintains test equipment. Follows standard procedures and special procedures in written and oral form on motors, drives, and electrical systems. May direct the specific activities of less experienced employees.

Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble/disassemble test setups of equipment, instrumentation, and products being tested.
  • Select, calibrate and connect all instrumentation required to conduct tests.
  • Perform test, read instrumentation and record data manually and on computer
  • Check accuracy of test data using necessary calculations and plotted curves against calculated design values.
  • Handle equipment and instruments with care and store in prescribed location and manner after use.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning function on equipment, instruments, and work area on routine basis and as specifically assigned.
  • Copy and distribute test data records to engineering and retain one copy for permanent test records
  • Learn and follow all safety rules and procedures of the test facility and manufacturing plant
  • Exercise independent judgment to avoid actions and situations that are hazardous to people, equipment, instruments, and the facility
  • Perform special tasks and handle special projects as assigned in support of overall engineering, manufacturing, and company objectives.
  • Perform 3Q6S improves to achieve and maintain 3Q6S level exceeding Nidec Standards

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Testing experience
  • Manufacturing operations
  • Assist in the training of new employees in the test lab
  • Data tables, charts and other reference materials
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate mathematics algebra level
  • Prior experience with testing and or manufacturing operations
  • Ability to work in a Team oriented setting
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
